I say yes, though I want it to be permanent.
As much as I love the classic look (preferably black and gray) I think it's long past time that the "movie" approach is used in comics.
I know it was used for a time, but it was never fully embraced. I want a suit that's completely black. It doesn't matter whether the oval returns to me or not, but if it does, I think the yellow should go. I also want to see a belt that combines the pouches and the capsules (though I see them as canisters) and is itself a dark gray.
I found a B&W drawing by Roger Cruz which has the perfect combination of capsules and pouches. I did the best I could to color it using Paint.NET (it's all I've got)
This uses the oval look, though I'd be happy with either a black bat like in Batman Begins/TDK or a dark gray bat with no oval)

What do you think? Not just of this pic, but what are your ideas for a new look?

So at the end of Batman 691 (the last issue of Judd Winick's run), Dick Grayson finds a data stick (USB stick? lol) that Bruce had hidden. On it was the case file for the murder of The Graysons.
Anyone know if this plot point is going to be picked up anytime in the future? Because it doesn't look like Judd Winick is coming back to the book for a while...

This may have been discussed and answered in other threads, although I haven't seen it. If so, feel free to merge mods.
Ok, so we all know that Bruce is coming back. What i'm curious about in the story are the actual mechanics of the Omega Sanction and how it works in the story. The Omega Sanction supposedly forces the victim to live a series of successive lives which are progressively worse than the last.
In effect, Bruce is (quantum) leaping from life to life...? Or is he living a complete life from birth to death then dying and being reborn several generations later. Does he/ will he remember his previous 'lives'? Will there be any overlap between lives? And will it be demonstrated that each life is in fact progressively worse than the preceding one?
And if so, are we to take the implication contained within then, that the current life of Bruce Wayne/ Batman is the worst of these lives?
Just random thoughts folks, discuss at your leisure.

Grant Morrison: Setting the events in primal times allowed me to tell a very straightforward story about Bruce Wayne's basic survival skills, his fighting prowess and his power to inspire myth. Vandal Savage is involved in a big way. We also meet the son of DC's Anthro character and the great-grandfather of Kong the Untamed, as well as learning the origins of the Miagani Tribe –the 'Bat People' who were revealed to have inhabited the Gotham City area in 'Legends of the Dark Knight', back in the '90s. [Expect] classic caveman action. Batman staked out by Neanderthals while he's dying of blood poisoning. Savage violence. Batman meets a group of 'archetypal', or if you like, 'stereotypical' characters of the kind which recur again and again throughout the kind of stories people like to tell one another – the big guy, the funny guy, the leader, the boy, the rebel etc. – and through them we see something of the beginnings of all our tales of heroism, villainy and loss. |
