Basically the two best known DC heroes versus an army of Villains and even Heroes in my favorite scene from the new Batman/Superman Movie, Public Enemies. Songs are from: Three Days Grace – Goin’ Down Breaking Benjamin – I Will Not Bow No Copyright intended…

Okay, here's the deal: the new Batgirl series intrigues me. The idea of a purposefully angry Oracle...at least I've read the writer said that's version he was given to work with...being forced to work with the ever plucky, ever determined Stephanie Brown seems like something that I might theoretically enjoy: disgruntled genius working with optimistic blond.

The big hiccup in that, and the main reason I've not tried the book, is because it's by DC. The last thing DC did that I enjoyed was Blue Beetle, and before that is was Enginehead. I don't think there's a comic premise I like that DC isn't capable of mixing with crap, sprinkling with anthrax, and serving to me as a Donut of Fail.

Here's my question: how bad is it? I've actually found that there's a higher chance I'll enjoy a book if vocal, friendly fans here on CBR dislike something. If people here say it's bad, then that's likely because it's fifteen degrees off-center, which is where I habitually rest; if people here say it's a great book with mature characters, I know that $3 is best spent on a McCafe coffee.

So, which is it?

Online at The Source now.

Can't say it's a very impressive preview, but i like that Damian refers to 'Robin & Batman' as he did in Batman And Robin. I'll buy this if it's a slow week.

I've been curious as to how the Bat-titles have been favoring with people since the relaunch. So what titles (if any) have you dropped so far and why?

The only one I have dropped so far is "Detective Comics". I can justify buying a book with art I might not be crazy about but not a book that I only enjoy looking at. Yes, "Detective" is gorgeous but I just didn't care for the story, found it rather bland and wasn't crazy about the writing. Add onto that the co-feature which I had no interest in, so I couldn't justify buying it anymore.

"Batgirl" might be on the chopping block to, just because of budget issues. However, to be fair I'll give it a couple of issues to see how things go.

At some point, Bruce Wayne will return as Batman. The expectation is that at that point, Dick Grayson will vacate the role of Batman and either return to being Nightwing or take on yet another new superhero identity.

Is there a possibility, however, that after Bruce returns as Batman...Dick will *also* continue operating as Batman? There has never been a time when two legitimate Batmen (discounting AzBats and other pretenders) were operating simultaneously in the same universe, but precedent exists in the Flash side of things, wherein we currently have three Flashes not counting Bart Allen. Is the concept of dual Batmen worth exploring?

If you were looking for a perfect storm of po-mo wrongheadedness, you couldn't do much better than a 'comedic' take on an early 20th century pulp hero, as assayed by a fleshy hophead whose star among the chemically unimpaired is already fading fast.

How would fellow Wayne fans feel if when Bruce is brought back, he -- instead of returning to the role of Batman -- instead, decided to run for Mayor of Gotham City? I think it would be an insanely bold direction for his character to go in, but I think the potential storylines it would allow for outweigh any potential downsides. It would be such an interesting way for Bruce to go. And at the same time, he could still use his skills, resources, and newly acquired position to aid Dick Grayson/Batman and Damian/Robin in their fight against villainy.

How would other people feel about having him relegated to this role? Hell, he could even continue his career as Batman, just, instead of doing it with the Playboy alter-ego, he could do something equally powerful by serving as mayor.
