Jason Todd, a highly controversial figure, has been a part of the BATMAN mythos for nearly a quarter century. Although not the most beloved of characters, he has definitely been among the most important characters to be introduced into the world of BATMAN in recent decades. His death in 1988 and recent resurrection in 2005 are milestones of modern BATMAN history.

Since Jason's revival, many have wished that he would return to grave. Let's take that idea one step further: what if, through the next DC universal reboot, Jason were removed from BATMAN continuity altogether? In other words, no second Robin was ever killed by the Joker. Dick Grayson became Nightwing, and passed the mantle of Robin directly to Tim Drake, the current Robin. Would you approve or disapprove?

My opinion on the Batman movie villains

1. Heath Ledger's Joker.
2. Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent
3. Batman Return's Catwoman
4. Jack's Joker.
5. Liam Neason's Ra's Al Ghul
6: Jim Carrey's Riddler.
7. Tommy Lee Jones Two Face.

And I will not dignify BAR by ranking Arnold's Freeze, and Uma's Ivy.

Is Batman evil?
Is Batman evil? I have noticed a number of pics that depict him in an evil light. This got me thinking.

Before more modern heroes like Spawn, Blade, and Hellboy etc, there was Batman and the Shadow. Such characters embody a type of... "you must to use evil to defeat evil" type philosophy. Is it even possible to use evil to defeat evil?

Below are two pics that illustrate my point. In one Batman is compared to Spawn.

In the other, each of the heroes in DCU's 'Trinity' has a tarot card behind them representing some trait associated with some aspect of their character. Wonder Woman has the card strength behind her, Superman has the card Justice (I didn't put the Justice card because there is a 4 pic limit), but Batman... of all cards, has the Devil card.

The devil card has nothing good associated with it like the other two cards. Below if from a wiki...

Some frequent keywords used by tarot readers are:[citation needed]
  • Materialism ----- Ignorance ----- Stagnation ----- Self bondage
  • Lust ----- Egoism ----- Obsession ----- Anxiety ----- Anger
  • Ganance ----- Hedonism ----- Passion ----- Animal instincts
  • Sexuality ------ Temptation ----- Lack of faith ----- Vice
  • Futility ----- Physical attraction ----- Pessimism ----- mistakes
Please remember that all Tarot decks used for divination are interpreted up to personal experience and standards.
I know, at least in Japanese myth, the devil isn't always evil as it is in Western views. But if the devil is evil, does that mean Batman is evil and if Batman isn't evil does that suggest that modern society doesn't think the devil is evil?

In one thread someone talked about how Batman uses torture. In another someone mentions how Batman uses lies to 'save' Gotham. Does the ends justify the means?

In one thread someone asked if, "Batman ever wins?". More than one poster responded by saying 'no'. If Batman never truly wins, does that suggest that he really isn't making progress? Does that mean you can't use evil to defeat evil? In some views of the comics it's suggested that Batman even encourages greater evil. As a result a new breed of evil spawned in Gotham. People make excuses to justify the presence of the new breed of villains in Gotham, but is that all it is, an excuse? Do we make excuses for him cause we like him?

If you use evil, doesn't that make you evil? And if you embrace the evil as part of you can you be a hero or does that make you an anti-hero? Can good and evil coexist in a hero as it does in Batman?

Is he actually just finished with it after R.I.P? I know Neil Gaiman is coming on board at some point. Still, with such a huge change, to just up and leave seems sketchy to me.
